Pisces Season: 18 February - 19 March
Pisces allows us to transcend reality. Deeply devoted and mystic in essence. Yet a bit intangible and hard to grasp at times. Being the final sign of the zodiacal wheel, this sign encompasses a bit of all twelve signs. Encompassing all, yet simultaneously an open vessel, molding and shifting intuitively to its surroundings. If there is one sign that is a shapeshifter, it is this very one. Pisces season might feel fleeting, a bit scattered, yet embodies the notion of dissolving the illusions, breaking the facades and returning to source, before a new astrological year begins. A season of cleansing and breaking molds to begin anew in the season that follows.
Characteristics
Pisces is boundless in energy, meaning it merges with all. It sees no boundary between itself and others, making it naturally compassionate and empathetic. This lack of boundaries however can cause Pisces to want to retreat into the world of daydreaming and imagination since the reality can be disappointing for this sensitive being.
With every high, there is a low and with Pisces we see the world through a dreamy lens. We feel compassion for the world around us. Unity is not a foreign concept, but a very well known way of moving through the world.
Although the sense of unity can be a positive thing. If we over identify with the whole, we can also lose our personal identity and direction. We can feel the need to numb our pain through escaping reality to not carry the burden of everything we feel.
Ruling Planet
Traditionally, Jupiter is seen as the ruling planet of Pisces. Making it a lucky and positive sign in general. Neptune is the modern-day ruler of said sign. A planet that was not discovered until 1846, a time of renewed spirituality. A time when hypnosis, the unconscious and psychoanalysis became a new way of treatment. All which speaks to how it influences Pisces as a sign. Neptune also rules over the realms of music, illusion, film, dreams and illusions. Wherever to be found in a chart may cast an illusion over it.

In the final stop of the wheel, this is where one comes to dissolve the ego, emerge into the subconscious and travel to other astral planes. Pisces is a water sign, however being mutable this is a type of water that desires to travel and move. Water signs are known to be emotional, intuitive, sensitive and observers. Water absorbs the energies around it, unwanted or not. Which is why often Pisces might find itself enmeshed with those it's in deep relationships with. Untangling its energies with others is a lifelong journey for this sign to learn that it can create boundaries with those around it and still have deep connections.
