Full Moon in Aries

Updated: Mar 14, 2023

In the midst of the season of Libra, a harmonious air sign, we meet the fiery impulsiveness of Aries. This Full Moon will expose anger lingering in the corners of our subconscious mind. Let’s learn how we can transmute that inner fire into transformative energy.

Full Moon Aries

Full Moon in Aries

The Full Moon is a time of the two “O’s”: oppositions and opportunities. Where there are oppositions in astrology, the red "scary" lines in astrological charts, there lies potential for growth and expansion. If there would be only green/blue, harmonious lines, then we would be without any push or desire to change or transform.

The Full Moon is one big opposition of the Sun and the Moon. This energy brings to the light much that has been kept in the dark: fears, wounds, anxieties, insecurities, triggers. Giving us the grand opportunity to integrate, heal and transform whatever comes up.

Which is why when I see red lines in someone’s chart, I know this will give them the inner fire and motivation, they need to transform those inner challenges into gifts, talents, insight and wisdom.

My chart is full of red lines by the way having me be pushed in ways, out of my comfort zone, time again and again. Not always easy, but I see the gift in this now. With my Mars in Libra opposite of Jupiter in Aries, the inner Warrior and Fighter in me is real. Much of which has been a theme for me this Full Moon in Aries.

When anger arises this Full Moon, breathe through it. Instead of allowing yourself to become impulsive and reactive, which are very Aries themes. Weigh the options (gravitate towards the balanced Libra energy), take a moment to breathe, reflect before responding. This is how we step out of being reactive and learn to become responsive.

Aries has the spirit of a warrior thanks to its ruling planet, Mars. Libra desires harmony and justice above all else, ruled by the pleasure-loving planet, Venus. Aries has the focus on the Self, whereas Libra on others. With Aries we learn independency and with Libra we learn how to play nicely with others. Both needed, yet in any extremes can become either too strong-willed and stubborn or too dependent on others.

This Full Moon is calling us to embody our true self before cultivating deeper relationships with others. It is asking you: Where can you let go of the anger and resentment of the past? How can you lean into forgiveness for yourself and others? Where can we channel this Warrior energy into initiating new ways of relating with others and ourselves?

Aspects

The Moon is conjunct Chiron in Aries in opposition to the Sun and Venus in Libra. This is an invitation for us to deeper in the healing of our relationships and friendships.

With a Grand Trine between Venus in Libra, Mars in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius, there is a lot of Air quality going on this Full Moon. When too much air mixes with fire, this can create an uncontrollable fire.

Chiron and the Moon conjuncted both in the fire sign of Aries is asking us to ask where do our emotions still need healing? Which relationships of the past are we ready to let go of? Without holding on to the anger of what was or may have been.

If we hold on to the anger, bitterness or resentment, we are in effect the only ones feeling these emotions. Not others. Our emotions, thoughts, the words we say to ourselves are in essence all directed, heard, received by us. Whatever emotions arise for you this Full Moon, take a few breathes and hold space for your emotions. Witness, be, and breathe it out.

Shamanic Moon Ritual

Let’s create some candle magick this Full Moon!

What you need:

♈︎ 4 candles (color of your choice)

♈︎ A burning pot

♈︎ matches

♈︎ journal + pen

The ritual

Take 4 candles placing them in a circle each representing one of the 4 directions and elements. Light the candles calling in your helping spirit guides, ancestors, angels, whoever you call upon for guidance. Make sure you have a burning pot for later. Otherwise you can do the burning release ritual outdoors.

Take your journal out and journal out the questions below. Once you have become clear of what you are ready to shift and release this Full Moon, burn it.

Fire as an element has the energy of transformation. Like the phoenix who arises from the ashes, fully reborn. We, too, can use the element of fire to ignite our inner fire, magic and purpose, as well as burn away anything.

Watch the flames and notice: how quickly or slowly does it burn? In which direction does the smoke go?
