How to take enlightened action with the Waxing Moon

Updated: Jun 20, 2023

As the moon grows in light, her energy gains momentum. It is a time when ideas begin to gain form, and become more concrete. We move away from the vision and dream, and move into the process of birthing the idea. Structure is creating to hold the vision. Ideas on how to move forwards and towards our seeds of intention begin to sprout from our being.

The Waxing Moon

The Waxing Moon consists of a gradual build up of two weeks. It is the perfect time to put the work in and continue building up your projects. After the reflective phase of the New Moon, where we set our intentions, energy is increasing, as the moon waxes. We are heading towards the peak of our lunar cycle. You can use the power of the Waxing Moon to attract things or improve things. The Waxing Moon consists of three phases: Waxing Crescent, First Quarter and Waxing Gibbous.

The moonlight is increasing. Anything you are willing to receive more of and see flourish, increase. Now is the time to invest in your intention to cultivate growth in that direction.

Taking enlightened action

From the seed begins to grow a sprout and roots. One of the main and most crucial contributing factors to creating enlightened action-steps is for us to tune into our body, and our highest self, and channel in those inspired action-steps that the universe is inviting us to take.

It is about taking the action, and not letting our fears and ego get in the way. Dropping those stories of perfectionism - "that we are not ready yet". In reality, we will never be fully ready, if we don't allow ourselves to take that leap of faith.

Fear does not mean that action should not be taken. Quite in the contrary. Leaning into the fear and not letting it take the driver's seat is when you will gain a new level of perspective and experience.

What is enlightened action?

Enlightened action is purpose-driven, it is aligned to your heart-body-mind, and it comes when you took care of yourself first and feel truly rested and at ease. Not when you feel the pressure, and create action out of fear or lack.

  1. Purpose-driven - it is not a byproduct of your fear or any type of lack mentality. You don't feel that pressure and create action last-minute. It is fully in alignment with your purpose and higher vision for yourself and life.

  2. Heart-body-mind alignment - you feel that it is not only an idea popping into your mind, but how deeply connected and aligned it feels with your heart. It feels expansive and right in so many levels. It might even feel a bit scary, like a fear that stems from excitment and anticipation.

  3. Rest and ease - action comes from rest. This is probably the most crucial step in my opinion. many times action is taken out of the constant need to be busy, as we overglorify "being busy", and therefore it is not taken from a place of true rest and ease. When we are rested, fully at ease, we develop this inner peace and are more in the space to notice the signals from our body when something feels inspired, or off.

Action follows rest

When you feel fully rested, you will be able to tune into your body, and feel what feels right for you.

After every yin phase, one of rest, and being, of tuning into our feminine energies, we create space to receive, we create space for us to be able to listen to those whispers of our intuition.

Following every yin phase, comes a yang phase, a phase of purposeful action, a phase that gives our ideas a sacred masculine container of structure and planning.

Both are needed, after rest follows action.
